Madeira is another holiday destination that appeals when there are still chilly spells back home. Spring arrives earlier in Madeira and mid March onwards is a good time to visit. There is a huge choice of holiday apartments in Madeira, including unused weeks in timeshares. There are still plenty of sun worshippers who can cope with sizzling summer hot spots around the Mediterranean. Bear in mind that to remain comfortable and avoid temperatures approaching 40 degrees, stay in the UK for July and August.
Malta is highly thought of as another holiday destination by the British because of the excellent relationship going back in history between the two nations. Lots of British pensioners have settled there after many years of holidays and getting to know the island.
