HOLIDAY HOME EXCHANGE
General guidelines for exchanging holiday homes
If you regularly let your holiday home via Country Cottages you will be familiar with the high standards of accommodation required for successful lettings.
Expect equally high standards from whoever you plan to exchange with.
Examine and double check any details that you are sent. Google can be quite useful for verifying data. Photographs of the property are essential. A holiday home website is generally safer since anyone interested in trying to obtain a free holiday is unlikely to go to the expense of creating a website of a ‘virtual holiday home’.
You will need to agree dates – either simultaneous exchange or staggered exchange.
If you plan to exchange cars, ensure that each party has appropriate insurance
Any agreement should be made on paper and signed by both parties in advance.
Have a Plan B should your exchange fail for any reason - read about holiday home exchanges that go wrong and how you can avoid disaster
Please note that exchanging your holiday home with another holiday home owner is something that you do entirely at your own risk. We accept no responsibility and are not involved in any way except to list potential holiday homes to exchange. Our business is simply to promote and advertise holiday homes on the web.
