Les Gets, Avoriaz and Chatel are three of the ski resorts in the Portes du Soleil which are accessible from Morzine.

Annual Events: Skiing, mountain biking, parapenting championships are frequently held in the area, but not necessarily each year.
There is an annual 4x4 mountain challenge in August and a car rally at the beginning of September.
The Tour de France usually visits the town every third year - last visit 2006.

Good places to eat: There are many restaurants, but some will be closed outside July and August. One of our favourites is the ?Clin D?Oeil?, between the river and the Champion supermarket.
La Combe a Zorre, Le Tyrolien, La Flamme and Le Grillon in the town centre are all very popular.
For something special take the cable car (if operating) or short drive to Nyon where you will be rewarded with wonderful views and food at the Pointe de Nyon restaurant.
