Beach Cottage - England, Essex, Clacton on Sea

A tiny cosy cottage offering the opportunity to get away from it all at a truely competitive price.

Five minutes walk to the sea, this homely cottage is located on an unadopted road, excellent for an individual, a couple and their pet(s) who like long walks and for whom the pot-holes in the road and unpretentious area will be more than made up for by the miles of award-winning sandy beaches.

The cottage has a small double bedroom, a lounge with french doors (also the front door), galley kitchen and a surprisingly spacious bathroom.

Jaywick Sands is a five minute drive from Clacton on Sea, which is one of Tendring Peninsula’s seaside resorts offering everything needed for an enjoyable traditional seaside holiday. There are also regular buses from Jaywick to the centre of Clacton's resort area.

A table-top market/boot-fair is held most Sundays in Jaywick Sands.  The golf club is 5 minutes drive between Jaywick Sands and the main resort of Clacton on Sea.  The club welcomes Day Visitors who bring their own clubs.

This is an ideal base for exploring due to its proximity to Colchester, the country’s oldest recorded town and Constable Country with its beautiful countryside and villages of Dedham, Flatford and Stratford St Mary.

Jaywick Sands is a 10 minute drive from Clacton Station which is the terminal station from London Liverpool street station with a journey from London is approximately 1 1/2 hours.

The this property offers homely accommodation in an unpretentious area for those who want to relax or have a competitively priced base to explore. 

Pets will love it here.  Accept up to 2 dogs - alhtough it will be a bit of a squeeze if they are both large!

One child accompanied by an adult or one baby (cot not provided) with up to two adults are welcome.  Please note however that the roads are also the pavements and are not condusive to buggies.

Short breaks welcome Friday to Monday (3 nights) or Monday to Thursday (3 nights) at 2/3rds the weekly rental rate. Availability New Year 2009.

Clacton offers - Maffias Restaurant (Traditional restaurant including Sunday carvery), The Robin Hood and Oakwood Inn, (Excellent pub food), Cafe Medina (Indian restaurant with excellent mid-week deals), Thai-on-sea (intimate, Thai) and Sandles (Chinese buffet)• Franco’s, Prezzo’s and Pizza Express (Italian) • In the surrounding areas you can visit Milsoms, Dedham (Stylish restaurant), The Sun Hotel (oldy-worldy, very dog-friendly), The Pier at Harwich (Seafood restaurant) • Places to eat with beer-gardens (dogs allowed) include Robin Hood, The Kingscliffe hotel, The Bowling Green and Martello Inn.
